... button blog hop

... show and tell is set for today! Cindy Wimmer did a fantastic job of organsing us all - thanks Cindy for getting all our creative juices going. My button buddy was the seriously creative muse, Lorelei Hill-Eurto.

A beautifully package box arrived with an assortment of buttons - all in various shapes, styles, colour and style. I have had these buttons sitting at my workbench for some time thinking of how I could use them in a style of jewellery I would wear.
Colour is a big factor in how I create my jewellery, so I decided to make some hand made beads using silvered glass which would show metallic properties and hopefully tie in all the buttons. I love these gorgeous little brass buttons - I used them as 'dangles' on these metallic blue swirl earrings.

... Button Charm bracelet with Golden leaf dangle

... same bracelet- different view
I used the rest of the buttons (with the exception of the glazed stoneware button) in this rustic charm bracelet. I added similar metallic scroll beads to those I used in the earrings to tie in both pieces - the beautiful handmade toggle was included in a recent exchange and suited this project perfectly!
... sad irony - left the best for last and paid the price!
Of all the buttons that Lorelei sent me, the handmade ceramic button was my favourite. It's rustic feel and look appealed to me straight away - so I decided that i would learn to make one of these ....... (which are all the rage at the moment) I made some small beads to match and started my project - sadly, I did not get time to finish this as I had an accident at the torch and burnt my hand. I didn't quite have enough small beads to finish the project, but I'm sure you can use a little creative visualisation, you can almost see the finished item.

Thank you Lorelei for being my button buddy! Your creative style has made me push my own envelope to make something totally 'out of my box' ...

Below is a list of all the other players - pop in on them and have a look that their fabulous creations! For all the mum's taking part - have a great day and enjoy "Mother's Day" ......

Like that charm bracelet. Do show the outcome of the last piece because that is an awesome ceramic button.

Very pretty! and so sorry you burnt your hand!!! That last piece when you finish is going to be my fav. Love the glass beads that you chose to match the ceramic button. Fabulous! Put some aloe vera juice from the leaves on it!

I'm so sorry you got burnt! That will be a wonderful bracelet when it's finished! I have a hard time with non-matching earrings, but I could see me wearing those. And I love charm bracelets, and yours is awesome!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that you burned your hand at the torch - I do hope you heal from that quickly & then show us your finished bracelet - it looks beautiful already!
I love what you did with the variety of buttons you received! The silvered glass earrings are just so pretty - you chose the perfect color glass to bring out that metallic sheen & I love them! And that button charm bracelet is right up my alley! It is such a stunning piece with all sorts of colors and buttons everywhere - I would be totally distracted and would want to admire it if I saw it on! Thanks for participating in the button swap - your designs are all so imaginative and beautiful!

I love the dangles that don't match! Great earrings. The button bracelet looks fun to wear, must jingle nicely. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so sorry to hear you burned your hand. I hope it's not too badly injured as your beads are simply beautiful!
I really like all three of the pieces you created (or are creating. . .whatever) and when I try to decide which is my favorite, my brain pulls me to one and then another without making a decision. Ha! In any case, your design are really fabulous!

I'm sorry to hear that you burned your hand, but I'm glad to know that you had so much fun with this challenge despite the accident <3 What I can see so far is absolutely lovely-- I especially love those earrings and the dangling bracelet-- both are the perfect combination of beauty and whimsy :)

Thanks for sharing with all of us~

Both pieces are very nice, but I really like the button charm bracelet. Can't wait to see what you started with making your own beads to match the other button.
