...a big thank you

Well... the opening night to my show (well, not just my show) was a huge success. It was wonderful to see so many familar faces - both family and friends who came along to support me. I was so late (and nervous!) but the champagne was flowing and people were buying....!!! If you haven't had a chance to have a look, the Women of Substance exhibition continues till the end of February at the Red Hill Gallery in Brisbane, Qld.
I have been busy making new beads and jewellery over the past few weeks. New Bollywood inspired earrings are up on my website. Lovely discords of pinks and oranges make them funky and fun wear.

Autumn is fast approaching my palette of colours will change to reflect the season. Yesterday I made some v. cool beads in amber and decorated them with a metallic lustre glass that gives an iridescent sheen to it. They remind me of the beautiful lead light widows that grace most of the cathederals in EuropeThese beads, along with some new season stock will make their way over to Mad Monnies this week.
Take care - see ya! Liz x

....a welcomed change

It was refreshing to wake up to an overcast and cool morning. Its been raining for the past few hours and I am excited to be cocooned in my studio today!
I love the balmy Brisbane weather but I am enjoying the cool change. Winter? ..... bring it on!!!
I have been stuck in a heart rut all week....I have been making some for customers and then thought I would make one for myself. I'm going to wear mine to the opening of an exhibition I'm in .... Women of Substance. It opens tonight and I am looking forward to catching up with family and friends.

Several beads sets sold this week so I will replace these over the weekend with some new stock. This will including some large focal heart beads, just like the one you can see in the photo. They look great threaded on silk or you can combine them with a black neoprene choker for a very funky look. Enjoy the weekend and all that St. Valentine's Day brings. Ciao for now ~ Liz x

.... a sneak peak

All my jewellery and art glass pieces have finally been delivered to the Red Hill Gallery- I can now sit back and rest a little (not!!!)

It's funny how wound up you can get when putting the finishing touches to a collection of work. I didn't realise just how stressful things had become untill I dropped off my work last week. The images above give you a snapshot of my work for the forthcoming show; Women of Substance.

The local paper ran a story about me this week...the photo was taken quite some time ago and of course, the studio is now almost finished. If you would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
My website is constantly evolving and you will contine to see more sublte changes over the next few weeks. It will now focus on my bead work as well as showcase my jewellery. Stay tuned for some fun new work! For the time being, I have listed some new teardrop style earrings ... new beadsets will be added later this week.

Ciao for now ~ Liz x
