... love is in the air....

..... and at Mad Monnies bead shop! Earlier this week I dropped off some of these little lovelies and spent time jazzing up my cabinet, which now has poll position and sits in the front window!
Each month I will feature something new and different! To get the ball rolling, I have set up a heart bead display, just in time for St Valentine's Day on February 14 th.

Some of these beautiful heart beads have been masked and then etched to reveal a luscious red heart on a silky smooth background. They are packaged in pairs and are a perfect size for earrings.
I also promised to give you some more details to my forthcoming exhibition. This is a link to an ad which was published earlier this week. It will give you some background information on the other artists who are also taking part in the show. I am really looking forward to seeing our collective efforts. Please contact me if you need further information.

I am still not quite finished but hope to have it all wrapped up by the end of the weekend. Thank goodness it's an extra long one. Enjoy Australia Day ~ make sure you get out there and celebrate! Cheers and ciao for now!

one week down - 51 to go!

As some of you may already know the Eumundi Markets are some of my all time favourites. It's a quick drive from home and we usually finish a great morning with a swim at the beach at Noosa. Last weekend's trip up was no exception. My trips up there are the usual mix of business and then the beach...ha ha!
It's a great way to get to know the locals and meet others in the glass/bead/jewellery industry. I met Kat Cooke who is a local bead maker from the Sunshine Coast . Kat was getting ready to head off to the US this week where she is taking some classes with Loren Stump - lucky girl!!!
I am delighted to announce that I have been invited to exhibit my work that will feature several prominent female artists. Titled Women of Substance, the show will start on February 13th and will be held at the Red Hill Gallery in Brisbane, QLD. More details as they are announced. The beads in this weeks post were my afterthoughts of my time at the beach.
Caio for now... Liz x

Happy New Year

Well .... what and amazing few weeks its been. Actually, it's been a pretty big year to be honest with you! I always promise myself that I wont get caught up in all the rush that surrounds itself around the Christmas and New Year period...and every year I do!
I shouldn't really complain as I have had wonderful support from family, friends and customers this year. I would like to thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement. I am humbled by the thought that there are people out there who actively seek my work out.
Along with the Red Hill and Emporium Galleries, The Milk Factory Gallery in Bowral, N.S.W has kept me extremely busy for the past few months. I have been working on an African themed collection that was featured in the current edition of HIGHLIFE magazine. (page 44-45 if you are looking!)
My studio is coming along quite nicely! I have moved in, sorted the glass storage out and even purchased the furniture from Ikea. I will take pictures later on this morning (after I clean up from the impromptu par-ty last night ;) )
Ciao for now... Liz
