... refreshed and relaxed

.... after 4 fabulous days of teaching on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland! The retreat has been a long time in the making and it was a fabulous opportunity to connect with friends, on line acquaintances and establish future networks.
... Tracy (Tracy Stillman Designs) & her enameled assortment
I usually teach glass beadmaking classes but it was the perfect opportunity to introduce (en mass) my Flame Enameling workshops that I've been developing over the past year. The setting was right, the students were keen and the results were amazing! My student list included the "whose who" of the jewellery making circuit - it was wonderful to finally hook up with all these clever peeps!
... Tania (TLC Jewels) shaping and doming copper blanks
The workshop was made up of  two parts: simple wire-work and enameling. Students were taught basic techniques to enable them to make their own headpins in the flame.
We then used some of these to create ear wires. In the second part of the workshop, we cover enameling basics and used filigree style beads and copper blanks as a base for the enamels. I normally run this workshop as a day class .... you can read a little more during the coming week after I list in on my estore and website.
... Mandy and Carina getting serious
I am putting some thoughts and ideas down for the next retreat being held in Tasmania in May, 2013. If you cant wait that long, you can check out some new enameled pieces in my estore or visit my etsy store. I am constantly adding new pieces to both stores so please let me know if you need something specific. I am waiting for more supplies to arrive - I will email students once this happens.

I'm off to enjoy the rest of the weekend but will be back to give you an update in a day or so - have a good one! Liz x

*btw - if you attended the Sunshine Coast Retreat and took my enameling workshop - I would love some feedback - please feel free to leave a comment below!
