... yesterday, today and later on this week

... we are just back from a fabulous 2-day workshop in the Queensland regional town of Miles. It was a refreshing change of scenery for us and the time away from home was much appreciated. It was lovely to drive through some rural scenery - the changing colours of the countryside kept me "camera clicking and trigger happy" as passenger. My photos will be a fabulous visual reminder of where I've been a but just as important, an inspiration for some new colour combinations that I'm already dreaming about.
... a change of colours = a change of colour palette
My students were fabulous and we all had a wonderful time. We made lots of beautiful beads and talked glass non-stop, but I do want to share with you a special member of our class. This little joey was a roadside rescue.
.... a roadside resuce on the mend!
He was so adorable ... I want one! (well seriously - now that I know that Aussie brown kangaroos grow up to and beyond 1.4m tall, I may have to re-think how much I really want one of these cuties ... )

Today I'm home again and sorting thru my diary - trying to prioritise the more important things I want to share with you - the most of which is my guest artist spot at the In.cube8r Gallery in Brisbane this coming Friday night.
I will be lighting up my torch and demonstrating how I make some of my beads - come along and watch me at work - or play :)

Along with my guest spot as 'feature artist' - I will also be running some workshops next week (July 24th ~ 11am to 2pm) as part of the in.cube8r gallery "lunchtime projects" series. My workshops will feature some quick and easy earring assembly techniques that will get you some flash and funky earrings using some of my hand made glass beads. Interested? Contact the gallery: (07) 3252 8654 to book in or send me a quick email and I can take care of your registration for you.

In the mean time, have a fabulous week and I'll touch base with you again in a few days - ciao!

It was a great workshop in Miles Liz. I really enjoyed doing something that I wouldn't usually do!! Plus I had something to show off at the end. I look forward to making a necklace out of the beads I made on the weekend. Thanks so much, it was a lot of fun! And we learned so much in such a short period of time. :)

Bernie - we really did have a wonderful time! I could have easily stayed a few more days! So good to see you push yourself outside your comfort zone. Your beads were great - would love to see what you make from them!
