.... fashionably late

... seems to be my normal way of life these days. I try very hard to be organised and to be on time, but no matter how much planning goes into this, I inevitably always end up being late. This time it was for the opening of a exhibition that featured the work of the very talented Australian glass blower Keith Rowe, along with new work from, yours truly!

.... one that got away *sigh*

None-the-less, it was a great evening and I really enjoyed connecting with familiar faces and meeting new friends. If you have the chance, get along to the Red Hill Gallery - on show is a new collection of work that features the sandblasted pieces that were produced during my residency at the Canberra Glassworks.

... Fennel - featuring slip trailed textured designs

Yesterday I took a quick trip to Maleny to see some of Shannon Garson's work and jewellery pieces from Rebecca Ward. Shannon is one of my favourite ceramicists - so I could not resist the wonderful opportunity to catch up with her and check out her creative space, and of course to make the most of her studio sale! Shannon's porcelain bowls are just breath-taking and I just love the slip work that forms part of the surface design.

I am now the proud owner of some pieces from the Firewheel collection. I am thrilled to have this beautiful work in my home. You can read a little more about Shannon and follow her blog "strange fragments" here. I am enjoying a quiet sunday afternoon after having caught up with friends this morning. It's been a very busy weekend but I am chilling out! Hope your weekend has been a relaxing one! Take care - talk soon; Liz X

I'm sorry I missed your exhibition opening! I'm a fan of Keith Rowe's as well so I'll have to pop up to the Red Hill Gallery to check yours and his work out.

BTW, I love that colour green you've used in that necklace Liz. So serene :)

Cheers
