... chrissy cheer

I wanted to share with you some beads I made this earlier this week. I've been thinking of a way to create classy jewellery without it looking tacky or in traditional red and green colours. So I have decided that my theme this festive season will be "classy bling" ~ beads, buttons and jewellery made with gorgeous transparent glass and surface decorated with gold themed lustres and reactive glasses. Pics of finished pieces coming soon!

In today's post was an invitation to the Craft + Design = Art exhibition being held at Dogwood Crossing @ Miles Rocks. I am very excited to share with you that my work was selected to be part of this show earlier this year. I have been planning and preparing for this show for quite some time now and I am putting the finishing touches on the pieces, packing them carefully and getting ready to post them off to the gallery.
I won't be able to attend the opening soiree but hope to make my way out to Miles over the summer break. If you're travelling through the Western Downs region of Queensland (Australia) make sure you drop into the gallery and have look! You'll have plenty of time - show runs till Jan 5, 2010. Have a lovely weekend everyone :)

I want to thank all my family, friends and followers who made it to the exhibition centre last week to catch Mad Monnie and myself at stand #29. It was lovely to meet up with you all and I am extremely grateful for your continued support and encouragement. Your feedback was very positive and affirmation to me that you like the beads, buttons and jewellery I create.

... button up!

Just thought you might want to see some new buttons from me! Hand made with love using beautiful German and Italian glass - yummmm. These are so delicious I want to keep them for myself ! But, I'm going to package them up and have then on show at the Brisbane Craft and Quilt Fair so you can see them first hand!

I will also have lots of other goodies to share with you .... like new beads decorated with silver glass that gives beads an incredible lustre and "bling" factor!

I am looking forward to catching up with all my customers at the show, and especially the ones who've taken time out to tell me they're coming :) ciao for now ~ Liz

... hot from the kiln!

Wow, another weekend come and gone! We always try and do too much, this weekend was no exception.
I did however, manage to make a few more large holed beads. These beauties will fit both the Pandora and Biagi systems. The great thing about hand crafted beads is that they are unique and original and you know that you wont find it on anyone else's bracelet. You can even have yours personally made for you in your favourite style and colour! Want to know more? Just ask me!

I will have these for sale at the Brisbane Craft and Quilt fair in a week or so at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre, along with some of my other hand made beads, buttons and slumped cabochons ~ a little something for everyone!

..... in the post

.... usually means "new glass" for me! I've been waiting for my parcel to arrive now for some time. I managed to score some rare (hard to find) glass recently and it arrive d today - yay! Soft pink, vibrant mandarin and the some lovely transparent olivine .... hhhmmm ~ very nice!
My focus on all things PINK continues to this month. I am stocking my etsy shop with PINK inspired glass goodies, including some new hand made designer
buttons. Head on over and have a look. I'd love to know what you think about them!
In amongst all of this organised chaos, I am working to build up stock for the Brisbane Craft and Quilt Fair that will be held in October at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre. The show will run from 21st to 25th October. It will be huge, as getting ready for shows like this always are. Hope to see you there!

... October is the month for Pink

I wanted to post this blog entry on the first of October...it was all prepared and ready to go. We were at the beach enjoying some time away with visiting members of our family from interstate ... I had it save on the laptop, so technically it was just a matter of logging in and uploading the save message, right? No ... too hard and nothing went according to plan!

So, I'm a day or so late but it's all good. As many of you may already know, October is traditionally a major fund raising month for the Cancer Council. In particular they raise much needed funds and continue to highlight awareness for breast cancer research.

This year I have decided to donate a proportion of my sales from my etsy shop to the THINK PINK fund raising event. For the entire month of October, buy any pink item from my etsy store and help me to support this organisation.
I will also place all names from sales into a raffle to be drawn at the end of the month. The prize will be a pair of my Pink Rose Bud earrings.
