Have you received your copy of "Craft Fair Friends" yet? It's a publication put out by the Expertise Events who run the Craft and Quilt Fairs across Australia. Here I am on the "What's Hot in Beads" page where my rose bud earrings are featured. Not only will these luscious lovelies be available for you to purchase as beads, they will also come in kit form or as finished earrings.

The next Craft and Quilt Fair will hit the Brisbane Exhibition Centre October 21 -25, so come along and have a look at the new and exciting beads I will have on show.
If you would like me to mail you out a copy of Craft Fair Friends, please contact me and I will pop one in the mail for you. If you are out and about, you can drop into Monnie's shop where can collect your copy in person! More on this later - ciao for now :)

... down and dusted

Yesterday's dust storm has long gone, but in it's wake has left my house completely covered in a fine film of dust! It's everywhere and I'm not looking forward to the extra house duties!
My glass stash will take ages to clean - each and every rod will have to wiped down. I need more housework cos I don't have much to do as it is - hahahaha!

I made these red rose buds yesterday and am pretty pleased with the way they turned out. Of course, It's almost impossible to reproduce exact colours as variations in glass lots are bound to change from batch to batch. I think I got it right this time though! Ciao for now ~ Liz

.... sunday, sunday

What a wonderful weekend it was - the weather was just perfect and definitely a sign of more great days like this to come!
I managed to get some more beads made - I have noticed that I have put aside my usual obsession for transparent glass beads in exchange for the bold, bright coloured glass that fills my shelves. It started with the gelato inspired beads I made last week and quick spread to the brilliant red, yellow and oranges this afternoon.
I turned off my torch late this afternoon and contemplated the fabulous weekend that was. Relaxing and peaceful - a rare state of mind for me!

I managed to meet with my beading buddies this morning, picnic at the waterfront with my son, skype with my sister in London and chat on the phone with some long, lost friends. I am content and life is good!

.... gelato - yum, yum!!!

These beads are fresh out of my kiln this morning. Don't they look delicious? I'm just loving these new gelato style beads in lip-smacking colours! Gorgeous blues, aqua and turquoise teamed with lime and mauve - all heavily encased in a thick layer of sparkling, clear glass.

These have been packaged and are available at Mad Monnies, Norman Park in Brisbane. Monica stocks a large selection of my hand made beads including focal beads, sculptural beads and pre-packaged bead sets.
Not sure what you want or prefer to have something custom made for you? Easy - drop in and say hello to Monica or contact me and I'm more than happy to help you out. More "Hot" news coming soon! Ciao for now ~ Liz

...... ohh la la

I'm delighted to share with you that my jewellery can now be purchased in the gorgeous shop "SAVIDA" on Racecourse Road, Ascott. The very glam Jan heads this fabulous shop that specialises in imported shoes *yum* and other beautiful accessories - handbags, scarves and now my hand made "one-off" pieces. Drop by and have a look!

It's been just over a week since we got back from our overseas trip and already it feels like a distant memory. I had a relaxing week *trying to get over the jet lag, so I had no choice* but now its back to work!
I have some orders for several galleries to complete along with customer orders and beads to make for Monnies Shop. It's going to be a busy time ahead.

I wanted to share this photo with you. It was taken in Hong Kong harbor and shows interesting blend of traditional and temporary life in this amazing city. This is somewhere I really want to go back and visit again!
*ohh la la was something I heard my mother-in-law say all the time while we were visiting her in France. It sounds so chic and all the more French, especially when said by a French woman!

.... alive and well

Wow - day 1 of September and already this month is going to be HUGE!
We have just spent the last 4 weeks in Europe with family and arrived home over the weekend. Jet lag is taking its toll but its given me a chance to wade through mountains of emails and paperwork that have gathered while we were away.
I already miss the busy streets and alleyways of bustling Barcelona, the picture-perfect seaside towns in Normandy and the fast and furious pace of Hong Kong!

I am thrilled to announce that my jewellery will be on show at the Canberra Glassworks this Spring. To co-inside with the annual Floriade festival whose them this year is Mind, Body and Soul - I have put together a collection of "fleur" inspired pieces.
If you're down in the Canberra area later on this month, make sure you drop and have a look. If its a bit out of your way, then the picture below will give you a sneak-peak.

I have some more exciting news to share with you over the next few weeks, so drop by soon to catch up on all the latest news. Ciao for now ~ Liz
