....is it Friday yet ???

The weekend is fast approaching and I am looking forward to a little rest and relaxation. This morning I set up my jewellery display for the art show this weekend. It was a good feeling to walk away and know it's all done.

I wanted to show you some "eye" beads that I made to support an organisation that is raising funds for villagers of the tiny Himalayan community of Bhutan.

The challenge was raised by a South Australian Artist to support the event "An Eye for An Eye ~ Let there be Sight"

I've been thinking about how to use these particular beads in my jewellery ~ the earrings on the right are some of the pieces I have made so far.

The annual Noosa Jazz Festival is fast approaching and again this year, we are looking forward to linking up with friends who will be travelling from Melbourne. The Society Synchopators , who hail from Melbourne are one of our favourite Jazz bands and the free outdoor concert on the lawns of the very swish Perigian Golf Course is already pencilled in my diary!!!

almost there....

Spring is in the air - well, almost! Officially, we still have 2 weeks to go. But I'm beginning to see the changes already. The sun is up earlier and the days are getting longer - the light that shines through my studio window is beginning to shift and so I know, the warmer weather is not too far away.

I am getting ready to re-model my studio. A new tiled floor and slim-line work benches are on the drawing board. I will have to pack up my entire studio and start to make some sense of the masses of glass I have accumulated over the past few months.
Keep an eye on My Etsy store and my website for the fabulous bead bargains. I will keep you all posted when the photos are up.

For the time being, I am continuing to put the final touches to the jewellery collection I have been working on for the past few months. These will be showcased at the Bay Art Show this coming weekend, starting on Friday night. I am quietly nervous, but thrilled to see the how the collection has evolved over the past few weeks...I will post some photos later today.

Life is still on the "spin" cycle for me. I'm still working toward finishing pieces for the up and coming art show at St John Vianney's School at the end of the month. Being a "featured" artist sounds very prestigious (and I truly am honored) but in reality, I am starting to panic. You know the drill ... how many pieces, colour schemes, will I finish it all in time etc. etc.......

I will have some of my focal beads on sale as part of Mad Monnies Side-walk sale this Sunday (17th August) from 10am - 2pm. These are really special beads as I rarely sell my art glass that I create specifically for my jewellery or jewellery that is on display in galleries and studios. These will be available only on this day, so come on over and have a look.
