... to now show off my bead soup blog party creation. My soup mix was put together by Karyn. I used several components from her original mix along with some of my own.
My piece has a fused cabochon as its centre focus. I had many and varied ideas about how to use this piece in my jewellery. I made and remade several different pieces before finally deciding on this look! I'm really happy with the final product - "look and style" of my piece pretty much falls in line with the way I work. In the end, I chose colours and bead shape to add interest and details to my piece!
Inspired by Eni Oken's wire wrapping techniques, my first attempts looked like this .... it seemed like a great idea at the start but I quickly realised that maybe my choice of style was a little to complex since my own wire wrapping skills are fairly limited!
Then I thought I would try something completely different and use hemp cord to string and knot complementing beads and the necklace look "too" plain! So, shelving another idea to make way for my final creation was an easy choice!
Thanks Karyn for being my partner and to Lori for her amazing energy and enthusiasm! Hugs, Liz x

I love your finished piece, the textures from the different shapes of beads is lovely :)
Very sweet! Very beautiful!
Wow - those colors are amazing. Great job!
The "just right" is just right! I love the combo of colors. Keep trying with the wire wrapping, looks like you've got the concept, just a little practice.
Beautiful! I love this color combination. It reminds me of juicy watermelon. :-) Enjoy the party!
Great colors!
Beautiful work! Like you, I tried some things beyond my skill level that didn't work out, but I think both of ours came out looking pretty darn good.

Beautiful work. I love the wire wrapping!
Very nice.
This has the promise of spring written all over it. I love the wire wrapping with the beads framing the yummy candy beads in the second shot. Great picture! Thanks for the steaming bowl of soup!
Enjoy the day.

Oh I think the bracelet looks good - I've made Eni Oken's wire wrapped bracelets too. The colors are wonderful!

It does look so tasty, delicious like spumoni ice cream. Wonderful.
Wonderful colors and design. Love it.
I really like your pieces. Even the bracelet you thought was a little too much, was a perfect. The colors remind me of a summer day....
Hey Liz! You did a great job. I have been blog hopping all day and it's good to see a friends work! Beautiful.

I love how you showed your different iterations of your piece! The beads you received are so darned pretty, though, it would be hard to say anything you did wasn't perfect! I really liked them both!
Your designs are wonderful! Love the colors! :)
I love the whole thought process...it's such a challenge to get things that you don't normally work with to reflect your personal style. I love the finished product!
Plus, I looooove your blog header...it's fantastic!

Beautiful necklace! I hope you try the bracelet style again; I liked where you were going with it.
Juicy! (the colors make me think of a water melon) delicious and summery, I like the way you've tried different settings. It's definitely a keeper that necklace ^_^ Virginie ViviBijoux.com

I love the finished soup. The colors are beautiful.
So juicy!
this is more of a fuity dessert soup!
Mmm, looks good enough to eat! Like watermelon and sour apple Jolly Ranchers. :D That said, though, they are very beautiful spring colors. Love the final piece; it has a lot of upbeat character and sparkle. I also like that you showed us its evolution. I, too, was not happy with my first two attempts. I never would have thought to share them, though! XD Great blogging, I love it.
GREAT colors! Love the balance, you did a wonderful job!
Your piece just says Spring, a juicy one at that!! I see what you mean about trying to find the right balance. I'm glad you kept at it as your piece is lovely.
I loved seeing the rejected designs as well as the "just right" design. It really turned out beautiful. Congrats!
Love that you "showed your work" as it were. I actually like ALL of your versions! Great job!
Pretty pretty! Love your beads and that murrini is heavenly!
Wow Liz I love what you have created. Each piece is so pretty but the first one is my favourite... the colours all look great together!
Well done and thanks for being a great soup partner!
Karyn
Love those colors! Great job.
I love that you showed your process of experimentation! Any of these could have worked, but what you ended up with is just gorgeous.
I actually like all three of your ideas! And I think your wire wrapping is lovely. Great job on the finished piece.
Very beautiful colours and work here. You did a great job!

Love the colours in your soup! I quite liked the hemp wrapped one! But you have to wear them to see what they really look like!
I love the colors! Reminds me of eating watermelon in the summer.
Beautiful - sweet and stylish! I actually really like the wire wrapping too, though!
Not to simple, just right. Beautiful colors.
Wonderful finished necklace! I love seeing your process in photos! I struggled with alot of directions before I found the right one, too!
When I redo pieces to try and find the perfect balance, I call it "The Goldie Locks Syndrome". I will sometimes take apart and re-put together a piece a dozen times to get it just right. Glad I'm not the only one.
You did a great job! I think you created a really lovely piece that's just right.
A pretty, sweet spring necklace!
Yes, sometimes beads need to go through that trial and error process before one finds a good design for them.
I think it is just right, great colors, beautiful beads.
Yup Your final design is the best very pretty colorful and a nice mix of beads and color. Awsome job.
I like seeing how your worked through your designs....I liked all of you pieces....
Nice colors makes me want a big juicy piece of watermelon!! Gorgeous focal bead!
This may be doubled- something went wrong the first time. Anyway- Your beautiful piece makes me want to eat watermelon. The focal bead is gorgeous.
Wow! Gorgeous wire working techniques! Beautiful piece!
I like the end product and the focal is to die for- but I gotta say I REALL liked what you were doing with the wire wrap-
Give it another try! You can do it!
