.. a few of my favourite things in French!

Today is Bastille Day and in our house, its the perfect time to celebrate with family and friends. It's the one day in the year that reminds me that I should have been a bit more dedicated to learning the language (other than the little I already know....Christian Dior, Lancome, chin-chin*, yoplait etc. etc.)

I have opened the red wine, the cheese is "on the nose" and the beouf bourguignon is cooking away. I'm thinking seriously of tasting the wine before the guests arrive.....

Yesterday was a good day to step out of fast lane and spend some time with friends. We caught the new movie Coco. It was fabulous - from the beautiful scenery right down to the gorgeous couture that graced the Parisian bourgeoisie of the time!
It was set in France in the late 1800's - my some of my all time favourite times and places.

Hope you've had a great day - au revoir!

....Spring, bring it on!

The weekend BrisStyle markets held in Hamilton over the weekend were an amazing success. I was thrilled to be part of this team and to finally meet some of the on-line friends I've been talking to over the past few month.
I am not a regular market seller, in fact these were my first! My son Alexander came along to be my helper for the day and together we enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the day. The photo below shows the constant stream of people making their way through the church hall.

The other photo I've posted today is of a large focal bead I have made to be part of an exhibition that will celebrate "primavera"on this year. The focal bead measures around 3.5cm in width and features beautiful and delicate butterfly murrini, hand made by an American glass artist Ryan. I am getting ready for several "Spring celebrations" to be held in a few months time and this work be be part of the floral collections. It feels strange to be making beads and jewellery with flowers or that have floral themes to them when in fact I'm still making metallic and winter style beads! Keep warm - ciao for now - Liz.

... here kitty, kitty (not)

How cute are these puppies? My boys have been asking me to make "cat" beads for ages now but I just couldn't get it together. Instead - the pound puppies are alive and well at my house this week.
I am working in a sea of mess - beads, findings, jewellery etc. etc - all in preparation for the Designer markets this week.
These little doggies will be on show along with new work from me - come along and have a look! See you there - woof!
